Since its foundation in 1981 in Jeddah, iF Elektronik Ltd. (iF<\/b>) has pioneered in innovation and progress in IT (Information\u00a0Technology). To this end, between 1981-1986 iF<\/b> partnered with Raytheon, Videcom and Elkhreiji in automation of airline\u00a0businesses and flight operators. iF<\/b> worked with more than 100 airline companies including SAUDIA (Saudi Arabian Airlines)\u00a0in automating their reservation, ticketing, boarding and baggaging operations. During this period iF<\/b> also contributed to the\u00a0installation and maintenance of these systems in the newly built Jeddah, Riyadh, Dhahran and Medina Airports.<\/p>\n
Between 1986-1990 iF<\/b> partnered with Alhamrani and Diebold in financial systems computerization. Within a couple of\u00a0years iF<\/b> and Alhamrani gained 70% market share in ATM and payment systems having the largest banks in Saudi Arabia as\u00a0its customers including NCB (National Commercial Bank), Riyadh Bank, Al-Rajhi and many others.<\/p>\n
After the year 1991 iF<\/b> shifted its operations to Turkey where a big transformation was coming into effect in the use of IT in\u00a0business. Representing Gartner Group, the world leader in IT Advisory in Turkey, iF started independent IT advisory and\u00a0consultancy. Some of the largest companies and organizations including Turkish Airlines, Central Bank of Turkey, \u0130\u015f Bank,\u00a0Turkish Air Forces, Turkcell (largest GSM operator) and big holdings such as Ko\u00e7, Eczac\u0131ba\u015f\u0131 and \u00c7ukurova were among our\u00a0customers (for a complete of references please visit: www.if.com.tr ).<\/p>\n
Between June 1996 and May 2001 iF<\/b> contracted with Halkbank (People\u2019s Bank) to provide consultancy in their efforts in\u00a0automation of more than 1000 branches all over Turkey. Transformation from manual systems to full computerization was\u00a0successfully completed at the end of the project. During this period iF<\/b> introduced several new concepts to the IT business\u00a0in Turkey including CIO<\/b> (Chief Information Officer), TCO<\/b> (Total Cost of Ownership), IT Audit <\/b>and Independent\u00a0<\/b>Consultancy<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Between 2015-2018 together with Alhamrani Group entered into a project for seeking out and evaluating the start-up IT\u00a0companies in the technoparks of Turkey. The purpose of the project was to find out and help in financing and expansion\u00a0into new markets of these small but successful start-ups. During this period all the technoparks in Istanbul and Ankara were\u00a0visited to interview and evaluate more than a 100 new companies with new ideas and technologies.<\/p>\n
More recently, iF<\/b> has become more interested in technologies for mobile platforms which is becoming indispensable for all\u00a0kinds of businesses. One of the problems that has come to our attention was the fact that the countries where millions of\u00a0new mobile devices entering every year did not have a means of controlling whether these devices are legally imported or\u00a0not. Illegal importation has caused governments to lose large amounts of tax revenue in terms of VAT and customs duties.<\/p>\n
In Turkey this was solved by a system (MEIR <\/b>– Mobile Equipment Identity Register) developed for the regulatory authority\u00a0and has completely stopped smuggling of mobile devices. iF<\/b> has now undertaken the responsibility to promote MEIR in\u00a0the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. More than 20 countries have been visited in the region where it has been received\u00a0with great enthusiasm and projects which has slowed down due to the pandemic are about to roll-out in the near future.<\/p>\n
Alongside business operations iF<\/b> has been supporting art in Turkey since 1992 under the name iF-Art<\/b>. After 1996 these\u00a0efforts have evolved to one of the largest art collections in the country. Since 2020, the mission is also supported by various\u00a0art projects.<\/p>\n
With the purpose to help young and local artists get access to the national and international art scene, iF-Art<\/b> is organizing competitions, providing scholarships and continues to collect art works. Until today, more than 50 scholarships and 100 museum-visits are awarded to successful artists. We are also proud of our art collection which has reached 5000+ works of art.
